The Pellston Elementary School PTO supports and sponsors many activities throughout the school year.  Recently, the PTO has funded the painting of the Elementary building in brown and gold and also the painting of the new Hornet Logo in the Elementary lobby. The organization has also donated over $1000 for library books, made possible the Martina Hahn Speed Painting Assembly, donated prizes for red ribbon week, helped the volleyball and basketball team in a golf game by sponsoring a hole for both tournaments, and funded a Nubs Nob day skiing field trip for the third grade.

The PTO raises money through a variety of methods such as building fundraisers, Christmas Baskets, Spring Carnival and incentive programs like Box Tops for Education (watch expiration dates and trim neatly) , Spartan Labels (must have entire barcode/UPC) and Campbell Soup labels.  The PTO sponsors a competition to collect Campbell soup labels, labels for education, Spirit labels (found on Soft n' Good bread), Olesons receipts (need entire receipt), Tyson A+ labels, Coca Cola brand caps (including Fuze, Minute Maid Juice, and Powerade), Coke Rewards (inside 12 pack cans, 20 and 24 pack cans, and inside the cellophane of Dasani 24 count water) Spartan UPC  labels, box tops and  also Terracyle. For Terracycle, they collect beauty products (hair products, cosmetic, skin care, mouthwash, deodorant), lunch kits, solo cups, cereal bag and granola bar wrappers.  PTO also has Gordon Food Service cards. GFS cards can be  scanned when making a purchase at Gordon’s and the PTO will receive a percentage.

PTO Meetings are generally held on the second Friday of each month in the Pellston Elementary School Library. Parents and teachers are encouraged to attend any of the meetings to learn more about our activities or to offer ideas and suggestions. Check out the school newsletter and the PTO bulletin board outside the Elementary school office for information on upcoming activities and meetings.  Please consider getting involved to help make Pellston Public Schools the best ever! There are many great volunteer opportunities at Pellston Elementary School. Some can be done at home, others at school, but all need your involvement to make them a success.
